Description

Each kit contains a PDF pattern and fat quarters of high quality, specialist materials to make two pairs of nursing pads. You will need a sewing machine and/or an overlocker to make the pads.

This kit contains:

  1. Digital download: the PDF pattern and step by step instructions to make the nursing pads. The pattern can be printed out or redrawn at home.
  2. White bamboo terry towelling (90% bamboo, 10% polyester) – approximate shrinkage 4-5%
  3. White PUL (75% polyester, 25% polyurethane) – very soft and durable, this PUL is both waterproof and breathable, making them exceptionally suitable for nursing pads. Produced without toxic chemicals or finishes in a controlled environment in American textile mills, plus the waterproofing process is done without toxic solvents or harmful waste.
  4. Light beige or white microfibre terry (100% polyester) – this amazing fabric soaks up 8 times its weight in under 2 seconds, and 20 times faster than any other material!

Please prewash the bamboo towelling fabric. The microfibre doesn’t need pre-washing, but if you would like to, please overlock the square before pre-washing as a preventative measure: microfibre will shed and unravel.

Please always use liquid detergent and no fabric softener when washing the finished nursing pads: microfibre fabric holds on to everything and softener and powder detergent will get stuck and accumulate.

Washing:  the pads can be washed at 30-40 degrees, tumble dry on low heat if absolutely necessary.
